Annual Dinner February 2012

Trish Hill, Mayor of Llandrindod Wells, was guest of honour at Llandrindod Wells Twinning Association’s annual dinner held at the Lakeside Restaurant. Jeff Thomas, Chairman of the Twinning Association, spoke about the successful visits organised in 2011 and looked forward to a busy year in 2012 when three different groups visit Llandrindod from the twin towns of Bad Rappenau, Germany and Contrexéville, France. The Mayor and a group from Llandrindod have also been invited to visit Contrexéville to celebrate twenty years of twinning in July.

In May 2012 Heribert Blättgen, the Mayor of Bad Rappenau, and a party of twenty seven people will be visiting Llandrindod for a four day stay. A busy programme is planned, including seeing the Drake University Choir from Illinois in the Pavilion Charity Concert on 19 May. In July fifty two pupils accompanied by their teachers from the Wilhelm-Hauff-Realschȕle, Bad Rappenau will come to Radnorshire for a short stay when they hope to visit local schools and meet local youth groups. In October Llandrindod Wells will celebrate the twentieth anniversary of twinning with Contrexéville. To mark this occasion a Youth Band and official delegation from Contrexéville will be visiting Llandrindod.

In order to fund these visits Llandrindod Wells and Area Twinning Association relies heavily on voluntary contributions and support and welcomes new members. The Association wants to make twinning accessible to all sectors of the community and any local group wishing to make an exchange visit should contact the Association through its website: or phone the Secretary on 01597 851931
